The Church of St. Andrew in Patras, greece is one of the largest and most impressive churches in Greece. Located in the city of Patras, the third largest city of Greece and capital of the region of Western Greece.<\/p>

The church is dedicated to St. Andrew, the patron saint of Patras, who according to tradition was martyred there. There are two temples dedicated to st Andrew in Patras, greece:<\/p>

1. The Old Church: The old church of St. Andrew was built in the 19th century (1836), and is built on the ruins of an early christian basilica. It is a small, but historically significant church.<\/p>

2. The New Temple: The new church of St. Andrew, which was completed in 1974, is one of the largest orthodox churches in the Balkans and in Greece. It is built in neo-byzantine rhythm and impressive domes and frescoes. The capacity is for about 5,000 people.<\/p>
